It is thought to be beneficial to take a different look at the fact that the bağlama, one of our Turkish folk music instruments, has a large family known by various names, which creates confusion in the instrumental dimension of our music by being called different names within the same family. This study aims to provide a different perspective to the new generation of enthusiasts in contemporary Turkish folk music by handling the bağlama family both structurally and theoretically, and conducting an analytical review. While the ney instrument, which also has family members named differently but structured similarly to the bağlama family, is exemplified, it has been observed that the bağlama is distinguished not only by its size but also by different regional names. This document analysis-restricted study has been limited to the bağlama family.
